I wasn’t happy with the Mjolnir for a while, b/c its a major ship in the game that you fly off of and see quite a bit. I spent a lot of time re-re-re-designing it, trying to keep what we liked and what the story asked for, at the same time trying to make it look different from the Revi and UEA. This is where I got it, I’m happy enough to move on. There’s still a lot to do by Sunday’s blocking deadline.
Andrew designed this ship and I made it much more elaborate to match the UEA style. Game play wise it will be kinda fun to fly into the side of the ship. Anyway, This is one of the last major blocking tasks lest.
I made a goal of this Sunday (3/31) model blocking, tmp UV’s, tmp textures and scaled complete. Right now I’m on target to reach that goal.
The old design of the heavy fighter didn’t match the UEA style we’ve been building so it was all but scrapped. It helped me get the initial shapes but even the parts I like were removed as the design grew.
We swapped the UEA medium fighter over to the Revi b/c it style matches more the Revi build and slapped a tmp texture on it for the ships page. Revi have internal engines UEA have external (not always on cap ships) UEA look more like human military, while the Revi more alien, tighter and somewhat futuristic. Subtle things like the canopy on the Revi has no bezel while the UEA does… as a small example. During the re-edits the styles of each faction will continue to be conformed.
